Luxury perfume gifts worth the splurge: Christmas 2026

By Rowan Hale · 9 October 2026

Perfume is one of the most personal gifts you can give, so the safest way to choose is to start with what they already wear. If they love fresh, clean scents, a heavy sweet perfume will sit unused; if they wear something warm and spicy, a light citrus will feel like nothing at all.

These thirteen are all Eau de Parfum or stronger, so they last longer on the skin, from prestige fashion and beauty houses: seven for her and six for him, each matched to a scent family. If you're not sure of their taste, a smaller bottle or a gift set keeps the risk low. Each pick says who it suits and who should skip it. Check the current price on each product page before you buy.

1For her: fresh and cheerful

Clinique Happy Eau de Parfum 50ml

Clinique's best-known women's fragrance, a bright citrus-floral that has been around since the late 1990s. It suits someone who likes clean, uplifting scents for every day, or who wore it years ago and would love it again. The bright opening fades faster than the rest, so it's a daytime scent rather than a statement one. Skip it if she prefers warm, sweet or spicy perfumes.

2For her: soft and floral

Estée Lauder Pleasures Eau de Parfum 30ml

Estée Lauder's sheer floral classic from 1995, built around lily and jasmine. It's quiet and elegant rather than loud, which suits someone with classic taste who doesn't want a perfume people notice across the room. The 30ml bottle keeps the gift low-risk. Skip it if she dislikes powdery or white-flower scents.

3For her: sweet and warm

Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum 50ml

Lancôme's best-known perfume since 2012: a sweet floral with iris, patchouli and vanilla, the style perfume counters call gourmand. Choose it for someone who likes warm, noticeable fragrances that last into the evening. Skip it if she prefers light, fresh scents, because the sweetness is the point. The bottle is designed to be refilled.

4For her: polished and grown-up

Armani Sì Eau de Parfum 50ml

Sì has been one of Armani's signature women's perfumes since 2013. Armani describes it as a modern chypre: blackcurrant nectar, May rose and freesia over a soft base of vanilla and blond woods. It's fruity without being sugary, which suits someone who wants a smart, confident scent for work and evenings. Skip it if she likes very fresh or very sweet perfumes.

5For her: luminous and modern

Prada Paradoxe Eau de Parfum 50ml

Paradoxe is Prada's newest women's signature, launched in 2022. Prada builds it around three notes: neroli, amber and a soft white musk, so it's bright and floral at first and warm underneath. It suits someone who likes a modern, polished scent that isn't too sweet. The bottle is designed to be refilled. Skip it if she only wears very fresh or very light perfumes.

6For her: rich and statement-making

Valentino Donna Born in Roma Eau de Parfum 50ml

Donna Born in Roma has been one of Valentino's best-known perfumes since 2019, in a bottle covered in the house's signature studs. It opens with blackcurrant and pink pepper, with jasmine in the heart and bourbon vanilla underneath. It suits someone who likes a warm, confident scent with a bit of glamour. Skip it if she prefers quiet, fresh fragrances.

7For her: the Hermès signature

Hermès Barénia Eau de Parfum 100ml

Barénia is Hermès' newest women's perfume, launched in 2024 and named after the house's famous leather. It's a modern chypre: a bright berry note and bergamot on top, white ginger lily in the heart, and patchouli and oak underneath. It suits someone who loves understated luxury and wants a scent few people will recognise. The bottle is refillable. Skip it if she prefers sweet or very fresh perfumes.

8For him: fresh and clean

Armani Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Parfum 100ml

Profondo is the deeper Eau de Parfum take on Acqua di Giò, one of the best-known men's fragrances of all time, launched in 2020. It opens with green mandarin, bergamot and marine notes over a warmer base, so it smells fresh and clean but lasts longer than a sporty scent. It suits someone who wants to smell fresh without anything heavy. The bottle is refillable. Skip it if he prefers warm, sweet scents.

9For him: fresh but grown-up

Yves Saint Laurent Y Eau de Parfum 100ml

Y Eau de Parfum is YSL's best-known modern men's fragrance, launched in 2018. YSL lists apple, bergamot and ginger on top, with vetiver and incense in the base, so it starts fresh and dries down warmer and woodier than a sporty scent. It suits someone who wants one fragrance for both work and evenings. Skip it if he likes sweet or very spicy scents.

10For him: crisp and understated

Hermès Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée Eau de Parfum 100ml

Eau Givrée is the Eau de Parfum member of the Terre d'Hermès family, launched in 2022. Hermès builds it on lemon and juniper over cedarwood, with a cool, mineral edge, so it's fresh but more refined than a sporty scent. It suits someone who likes clean fragrances and quiet luxury. The bottle is refillable. Skip it if he likes warm, sweet scents.

11For him: peppery and woody

Molton Brown Re-charge Black Pepper Eau de Parfum 100ml

The Eau de Parfum version of Molton Brown's best-known scent, Re-charge Black Pepper. Molton Brown describes bergamot and lavandin on top, black and pink pepper in the heart and earthy green vetiver underneath. It's a natural next step for someone who already likes the Black Pepper shower gel, and it's made in England. Skip it if he likes sweet or sporty fresh fragrances.

12For him: warm and sweet-spicy

Armani Stronger With You Intensely Eau de Parfum 100ml

Stronger With You Intensely has been one of Armani's most popular men's fragrances since 2019. Armani lists pink pepper and lavender over a warm heart of toffee and cinnamon, with vanilla, amber and suede underneath. It's a cosy, noticeable scent for evenings and colder months. Skip it if he prefers subtle or fresh fragrances.

13For him: bold and statement-making

Rabanne 1 Million Elixir 100ml

1 Million Elixir is the most intense version of the bestseller from the brand formerly called Paco Rabanne, launched in 2022 in the same gold bar-shaped bottle. Rabanne lists apple and davana on top, Damask rose, osmanthus and cedar in the heart, and vanilla, tonka bean and patchouli underneath. It suits someone who loves rich, sweet scents that get noticed. Skip it if he prefers subtle or fresh fragrances.

How I chose

I picked well-known prestige fragrances that are listed on Amazon UK and cover the main scent families, so you can match one to what the person already likes. I haven't personally tested every perfume here; the descriptions come from each brand's product information and UK retailers' listings. When I've reviewed a perfume in full, the review is linked from its pick.
