Privacy policy
The Splurge Verdict has no accounts, no newsletter and no cookies of its own. This page explains what is collected when you visit, and why.
Who is responsible
The Splurge Verdict is an independent website and is responsible for the information described here. You can contact me at [email protected].
What this site counts
To see which pages are useful, the site counts page views and clicks on Amazon links. Each count keeps only the page, the product clicked, the site or campaign that sent you here, your device type (phone, tablet or computer) and your country.
It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not keep your IP address, so the counts can't identify you. They are deleted after 400 days. The legal basis is legitimate interests: understanding which pages help readers.
Hosting
Like any website, the host that serves these pages handles your IP address and basic browser details to deliver them and to block attacks, and it may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people from bots.
Amazon links
Product links go to Amazon and carry an affiliate tag (see the affiliate disclosure). Once you click through, you are on Amazon's site, and Amazon's own privacy notice and cookies apply. I never receive your name, address or what else you buy.
If you email me
I use your address and message only to reply, and I don't add you to any mailing list.
Your rights
You can ask what information I hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Because the site doesn't collect anything that identifies you, there is usually nothing to find, but I'll always answer. If you are unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
