Love Chanel or Dior perfume? Six prestige fragrances in the same style

By Rowan Hale · 9 October 2026

Chanel and Dior make some of the best-loved perfumes in the world, and plenty of people already own a bottle. If you're buying for someone who loves one of them, a perfume from another prestige house in the same scent family can be a lovely gift: familiar enough to suit their taste, different enough to feel new.

I only link to perfumes listed on Amazon UK by Amazon or the brand itself. I couldn't find Chanel or Dior selling their perfumes there, so rather than send you to marketplace sellers, this guide suggests originals from other houses that share the same style. None of them is a copy, and none will smell identical. Check the current price on each product page before you buy.

1If she loves Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

Armani Sì Eau de Parfum 50ml

Coco Mademoiselle is known for a bright, fresh opening over rose and a grown-up, slightly woody base. Armani's Sì sits in a similar polished, chypre-style family: Armani describes blackcurrant nectar, May rose and freesia over vanilla and blond woods. It's a little fruitier and softer, so it suits someone who likes elegant, confident scents. Skip it if she wants something very fresh and light.

2If she loves Chanel Chance Eau Tendre

Clinique Happy Eau de Parfum 50ml

Chance Eau Tendre is a light, fruity floral that people wear every day. Clinique Happy is in the same cheerful, fresh family: a bright citrus-floral that has been around since the late 1990s. It's a little zestier and more citrusy, and it suits someone who wants a clean, uplifting scent for daytime. Skip it if she prefers warm or sweet perfumes.

3If she loves Dior J'adore

Estée Lauder Pleasures Eau de Parfum 30ml

J'adore is a classic floral bouquet with jasmine at its heart. Estée Lauder Pleasures is also a floral built around white flowers, with lily and jasmine, but it's sheerer and quieter. It suits someone who loves florals but wants something soft for every day, and the 30ml bottle keeps the gift low-risk. Skip it if she wants a rich, long-lasting floral with a big trail.

4If she loves Dior Hypnotic Poison

Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum 50ml

Hypnotic Poison is a sweet, warm vanilla scent from the gourmand family. Lancôme's La Vie Est Belle is one of the best-known gourmands of the last decade: a sweet floral with iris, patchouli and vanilla. It suits someone who loves warm, noticeable perfumes for evenings and winter. Skip it if she's moved on to lighter, fresher scents. The bottle is designed to be refilled.

5If he loves Dior Sauvage

Armani Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Parfum 100ml

Sauvage is a fresh, spicy men's scent with a bright bergamot opening. Acqua di Giò Profondo is in the same fresh family: Armani lists green mandarin, bergamot and marine notes over a warmer base, so it's clean and bright but with more depth than a sporty scent. It suits someone who wants an easy, fresh fragrance for every day. Skip it if he wants something sweet or heavy.

6If he loves Bleu de Chanel

Yves Saint Laurent Y Eau de Parfum 100ml

Bleu de Chanel is a woody, aromatic scent with fresh citrus on top and a smoky, incense-tinged base. YSL's Y Eau de Parfum shares that structure: YSL lists apple, bergamot and ginger on top, with vetiver and incense underneath. It suits someone who likes a polished scent that works for both the office and evenings. Skip it if he prefers sweet or very spicy fragrances.

How I chose

I matched each famous perfume to a prestige fragrance from another house in the same scent family, using each brand's published notes and descriptions. They are different perfumes in their own right, not copies or replacements, and none claims to smell the same. If someone is devoted to their Chanel or Dior, the best gift is still the original, bought from an authorised retailer.

Chanel, Coco Mademoiselle, Chance, Bleu de Chanel, Dior, J'adore, Hypnotic Poison and Sauvage are trademarks of their owners. This site isn't connected with Chanel or Dior, and no brand paid to be included.
