Is the Rituals Premium advent calendar worth it? Premium vs Classic for 2026

By Rowan Hale · 8 October 2026

Illustration, not a photo of the product

Rituals makes two main advent calendars each year, and the Premium is the showpiece: for 2026 it's a train with three detachable carriages. This is a research-based guide rather than a hands-on test. It covers what Rituals says is inside, how it compares with the simpler Classic calendar, and who each one suits.

What works

  • Designed as a train with three detachable carriages, so it works as a Christmas decoration as well as a calendar
  • Rituals says six of the 24 products are full size, against two in the Classic calendar
  • Covers bath, body, beauty and home, including travel sizes, exclusive launches and limited editions

Worth knowing

  • Rituals hasn't published a full door-by-door list that I could check, and the lists reviewers have published disagree, so you can't be sure exactly which products you'll get
  • Most of it is travel sizes: by Rituals' count, 18 of the 24 products aren't full size
  • Expect most products to be scented, as almost everything Rituals makes is

Who it's for

It's worth it for someone who will enjoy the train as a decoration as much as the products, and who likes Rituals' bath and home fragrance. If the person mainly wants the products, the Classic calendar covers similar ground in a simpler box. If they prefer unscented products, skip both.

For 2026, Rituals designed the Premium calendar as a train with three carriages that come apart, and 24 'stops' on the way to Christmas. Each carriage holds beauty, bath, body and home products. Rituals designed it to stay on display all through Advent, so it suits someone who decorates for Christmas.

Rituals says six of the products are full size, alongside travel minis, exclusive launches and limited editions. I couldn't confirm the full list: the door-by-door lists published so far disagree about which products are full size, and the Amazon listing has given a different count. The one product every list I found includes is a Glow Balm.

The Classic calendar also has 24 doors, in a simpler box. Rituals says two of its products are full size, and published contents lists name both as being from The Ritual of Jing: the 48h anti-perspirant cream and the night hand and foot mask. The rest are travel sizes from collections including Sakura, Karma, Ayurveda and Jing, plus haircare, a clay face mask, micellar water and four mini candles. It's in my luxury beauty advent calendars guide too.

Calendar prices change a lot before December, so check the current price of both on their Amazon pages and compare them with what the person would actually use.

How this page was written: I haven't opened either calendar. The details come from Rituals' newsroom and product pages and from published contents lists, which differ in places; where they disagree, I've said so. If I get one, I'll update this page with a hands-on verdict.

The verdict

Choose the Premium if the train itself is part of the gift: it's a decoration, a countdown and six full-size products in one. If the person mostly wants to try Rituals products, the Classic gives a similar mix of travel sizes in a simpler box. Skip both for anyone who prefers unscented products.
